5 Compelling Reasons To Start Using Infographics In Your Social Media
The márketing landscape in 2020 is unlike anything in 2010. If you hopped onto the digital marketing wagon thinking you’ll learn everything within a month and keep it going, you’re mistaken.
With every day, come new advancements in tech and algorithms.
Just this August, Instagram introduced REELS. Within weeks of TikTok dropping in ranks, Instagram reels came to centre stage. Now, it has influencers reeling (no pun intended).
People who are used to getting thousands of views, are now plateaued at hundreds because of the change.
The point remains. Social media and digital mundo is FOREVER CHANGING. Is there a way to simplify it for our users and consumers!
1. The Scroll Era Demands Show & Tell
Every single day, we add 2.5 QUINTILLION bytes of datos to the internet. That’s a HUGE number. In fact, between 2016–18, 90% of the internet’s datos was created (as of May 2018). In el hora since then, we’ve only managed to add MORE!
As information and estímulos piles up, la atención span of the consumer is nose-diving. Welcome to the scroll era. Reminiscent of Tumblr’s endless-scroll feature, which left teenagers scrolling for hours and hours through their feed (without el concepto of ‘pages’).
Today, casi all news feeds are an endless scroll. With quick need to catch up with the hottest news, and no patience on un poste without a hook in the first 2 seconds/2 lines — your content is going to be SCROLLED past.
So, modern brands have to take the SHOW and TELL approach. If your two paragraph content can be said in one reel or one infographic, it’s got a higher chance of making people stop and stare.
Now tell yourself the truth — did you read this para, or sólo see the image?
2. Visual Storytelling Packs HUGE Information
How information is packed and displayed is sólo as crucial as what’s contained — like a window display at a store. Luckily, más and more platforms are becoming VISUAL. Like we said — in el rollo era, they don’t have a choice.
First everything was converted to vídeos. Then videos were too long, so they were converted into snackable BITES. Today, even bites don’t cut it because most people catch up with social medium on the go, and have their feeds on mute. Enter, interesting subtitles and captions on a slideshow.
Tomorrow, that could change. We’ve gone from memes to viral songs and dances.
Welcome infographics — the starters of tips, tricks, hacks, and even revolutions. Not solamente do they pack information concisely, but they do it in a super amistosos way. Moreover, they’re becoming the go-to method for all industries to share information. For medium houses to share breaking news. For brands to share info on their products. For thought leaders to put together studies.
If it’s got text and un icono to go with it, it can become an infographic.

3. Easy to share, more chances of ‘going viral’
If you’ve scrolled through your stories — or even noticed Whatsapp forwards — most shared content happens to be an infographic. The ease of explaining something is so high with a visual medium, that people not only like reading it. They also prefer sharing it!
Want to talk about mental health? The latest elección news? The newest Instagram algorithm? Someone would’ve shared an infographic that can then be circulated. As Swati Sharma aptly says:
“Content is king, but infographics are its queen.”
Not solo do they pack information, they also have capabilities of going viral! Easily shareable, and carrying your info (and logo!) they can be spread like wildfire. This does wonders for brand awareness, and also brings more people to your doorstep. Plus, if your infographic happens to have good, accurate information — chances are, you’re going to receive a follow or subscribe.
4. Boosts SEO
SEO — the much sought after and revered target of site owners. Almost every new business does their activity to boost their SEO, because it’s what they think is the right thing to do. And you’re not completely wrong.
SEO is super-duper important. And finding ways to help it without having to jump through técnicos hoops is always a bonus. Then, you’d be happy to know infographics can also be used to boost SEO.
Think about it. Infographics are a great way to get your marca out there. Whether you use your brand colours in the design, stamp your logo all over it, or simply leave a ‘to know more, follow our website link’ in your bio or on the graphic. You’re creating backlinks!
Bonus? Infographics are just images. They can be embedded in mails, chat, AND in blogs. You’ve got a concoction of best practices in one spot.

5. What’s Seen, Sells
Infographics require not sólo creativity, but la capacidad to approach info in a zen, minimalist way that fits your brand’s identity. They’re meant to precisamente convey information without swinging too far into “this-is-too-basic” and “this-is-too-much-info-to-process” territory.
We know we said times are always changing, as are mediums. But some parts of marketing and consumer psychology will nunca change. They will grow and adapt to the newest mediums, but some humanos behaviours have been understood from the old days of traditional advertising. Out-of-sight, out-of-mind is not what you want to be.
FMCG companies used to approach display with the ethos — Joh Dikhta Hai Woh Bikta Hai (What’s Seen, Sells). Infographics are the más visible display estante of the information age. So, we recommend you get packing your product to place it right on the top.
