If you asked us to give you ONE tip to revamp your startup’s marketing, we wouldn’t even have to pause: get us onboard! Studio4 is a young, AGILE digital marketing company with brave clients and satisfied customers. We’ll take the digital communication reins and let you focus on your business… We don’t need to remind you how much you’ve got on your plate!

If, however, you’re keener on battling it out on your own, we aren’t going to leave you hanging! Here are — not one, but — FOUR steps you can take to get your brand’s marketing done more effectively. The best part? It won’t cost you a thing.

Give the consumers some direction!

The facts: There’s a huge gap between the amount of information we’re exposed to and the amount of information we pay attention to.

It’s disheartening, but most of your potential customers aren’t going to be scrutinizing all your painstakingly selected graphics and designs half as much as you are.

That said, it becomes clear that what you DO put out needs to be CLEAR, powerful and do the job of a thousand words in a few dozen.

Takeaway: Having clearly defined instructions, also known as “call to action,” at the end of all communication gives your consumers a helpful nudge in the right direction. After all, it only matters that they ACT on your advertisement. Simply admiring it as a job well done isn’t going to mean much in the long run.

If all your digital messages, starting from tweets and Instagram posts to emailers and blog updates, end with a direction that users can follow, more people will understand what they’re “supposed” to be DOING and ACT on that.

It’s a smart trick to prevent users’ confusion about what to do next from turning into disinterest in the product.

Establish yourself as an Expert in your Field

The facts: Being considered an experienced professional is always a good thing and it’s especially valuable when your clients see you as such. Buying product from a regular ol’ Joe vs. an accomplished entrepreneur isn’t a hard choice to make.

The catch is that cultivating this image isn’t easy and sometimes takes decades. As the founder of a startup, you simply don’t have that kind of time!

You need to get moving and get moving NOW, so what if we told you that there’s a handy shortcut that you can use, one that’s becoming increasingly popular amongst the masses?

Takeaway: Host your own webinars! The global population being locked in the confines of their homes has led to a boom in the number of people who want to learn online.

Use this trend to your advantage. Find niches of the internet that potential consumers are likely to gather and advertise your own meetings there. Make the topic meaty enough that it’ll stand on its own and plug your product as organically as possible over the duration of the webinar.

This is a great way to make contacts that are genuinely interested in the product and what you have to contribute. Don’t underestimate the power of a small but strong base!

Interact! Interact! Interact!

The facts: Too many entrepreneurs see their social media as being a static thing, a powerful tool but only to those who chance upon it through a friend or a well-placed ad. That’s simply not true!

You can control, to a very large extent, who appears in your feed and in whose feed you appear. The second part of that is incredibly important from an advertising perspective because targeted ads are almost always more effective than just advertising to the masses.

Takeaway: As much time as you allocate towards creating content for your pages, spend an equal amount of time simply scrolling through, liking, commenting on and following accounts for similar products.

The algorithms will pick up on that and start showing you more similar content. Simultaneously, OTHER people who check up on the posts that you’re now going through will start seeing your posts in THEIR feeds.

The power of social media is in its user-generated content. Don’t forget that these sites WANT you to succeed because their success relies on it.

Did someone say “press release”?

The facts: We all know how it is with the bigger companies, the more established brands. Every little achievement is treated one worthy of celebration. There are parties, there are media outlets clamouring to report it — and there are results.

Turns out, hyping your company up does wonders for public perception. Who would’ve thought? Clients are more likely to do business with you if they associate your brand with stunning successes, and having your latest accomplishments right in their face doesn’t hurt.

The takeaway: Of course, traditional press releases are out of the question (due to being out of the budget), but there ARE sites like PRLog that do the job for you. They’re free, they’re efficient, and they get whatever you feed into them blasted off at just the right places.

The next time you hit a milestone or get a tricky job done, try orchestrating a press release to let everyone know about it. It can only help.

So there you have it! FOUR ways in which you can stay ahead of the marketing game (five, if you include our #1 tip of letting us do all the work!). If this write-up gave you any ideas, make sure you leave a comment letting us know what it is.

If the piece gets a decent response, you can look forward to a part 2 so spread the word!
